The Premier Gold Project is a past-producing gold and silver mine located in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle. As part of the planned mine restart and future operations strategy, Cambria Gold Mines initiated a site-wide water treatment and water management improvement program to enhance environmental performance, operational reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Giffen Consulting provided integrated project management and multidisciplinary engineering services to support the planning and execution of the water management program. Working closely with Cambria’s construction team, water management specialists, and technical consultants, Giffen helped develop a coordinated program of improvements to address evolving operational and compliance requirements across the site.

Services included:

  • technical and project management support for water treatment and water management improvements
  • hydraulic assessments,
  • engineering for key infrastructure upgrades related to tailings water management, settling pond conveyance and buffering, mine-water collection and routing systems, and associated water management facilities.

Giffen delivered project management, project controls, design coordination, and multidisciplinary engineering services across mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and controls disciplines. The team also assisted with procurement- and construction-enabling deliverables, together with schedule, budget, interface, risk, and decision-support services.

By working closely with Cambria and its contractors, Giffen helped improve reliability, reduce spill and overflow risks, support regulatory compliance, and position the site for future mine operations.
