What office are you based in? Vancouver, BC
What inspired you to join the team here? Being part of a growing team where everyone’s input appreciated and valued was a key factor for me joining Giffen. Also, working in the precious metal mining industry has always been a career goal for me.
What do you think makes our team culture unique? People really love coming to work and being around each other. Whether its the Teams meme game or going out for a group lunch, I feel that we all like working together.
What is the best advice you could give to a brand-new employee? Bring all the energy you have! We work in a very fast paced environment where every day presents a new challenge and opportunity.
What is one thing that you wish people knew about your job or industry? Even though we are an engineering and design consultants, we really help our clients in any way possible, and it’s my job to make sure that we can provide as much value to our clients.
When did you first know that you wanted to pursue a career in this field? Having worked on the client-side for many years, I wanted to get back into a faster paced environment.
What do you love most about your job? Honestly, it’s the people I get to work with everyday!
What piece of advice would you give to your younger self? Don’t sweat the small stuff too much. Show up, work hard and be present and people will appreciate you!
What would your perfect weekend look like? A round of morning golf, a hike with my pup, meeting friends on a patio and some downtime watching football!
What do you like to do outside of work? I love golfing and am working to get better each year. I also moonlight as a DJ and do weddings and private events.
What is your favorite local spot to eat / drink? Black & Blue in downtown Vancouver, BC.
What would be your dream job (that isn’t this one!)? PGA Tour Pro.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be? One of the few places I haven’t been but would love to explore is Southeast Asia!
If you could pick any superpower, what would it be and why? Ability to fly. Imagine being able to go anywhere in the world and not have to deal with airports and airlines?!
