Giffen was engaged by Riverside Resources to provide detailed engineering services for a natural gas supply and distribution system and a diesel distribution system for the proposed greenfield Grassy Mountain Coal Project.

The natural gas supply and distribution system has the following requirements:
– NPS 4, 6km long, HDPE natural gas pipeline along the alignment of the proposed mine access road
– Tie-in to the existing NPS 4 gas pipeline near the golf course access
– Pressure reduction station at the mine site
– Natural gas distribution throughout the mine site

The diesel supply and distribution system has the following requirements:
– Mine site diesel storage and supply system
– Diesel distribution system throughout the mine site, with connections at the HV fueling station, the LV fueling station and the Fire water diesel backup pump set

The Grassy Mountain Coal Project is an open-pit metallurgical coal mine near the Crowsnest Pass, approximately 7 km north of the community of Blairmore, in southwest Alberta.
