After successfully supporting B2 Gold Corp. with the detailed engineering of the 65 million liter fuel storage and distribution facility at the Goose Project, Giffen was reengaged by B2 Gold Corp. The second contract was for the detailed engineering of a 75 million litre fuel storage and distribution facility at the Marine Landing Area (MLA), also servicing the haul trucks, day trucks, and light vehicles at the Back River Gold Project.

Giffen’s scope included:
– participation in HAZOPs, constructability, and maintainability design sessions
– assisting coordination between disciplines
– providing progress reporting for the safe delivery of the project
– development of mechanical equipment lists, pump datasheets, pump specifications, piping and instrumentation diagrams, piping line lists, valve lists, plans, and general arrangements.

The Marine Landing Area (MLA) allows for the receiving and staging of materials shipped by barge to the site. A winter ice road is constructed to transport materials to the Goose Project site.
