Project Overview.
Technical Management Group Ltd. (TMG) engaged Giffen to provide detailed engineering for a raw water supply pipeline and warehouse heating system as part of the Red Chris Mine’s Block Cave Phase 1 Project.
Giffen conducted detailed engineering to support the supply of a raw water pipeline from the south seepage pond to the storage tank located at the new decline operation. Giffen had previous understanding and experience of the water distribution pipeline, having completed a technical review and memo earlier in the same year.
Giffen additionally provided engineering to heat a storage warehouse located at the decline operation. The team developed HVAC general arrangement and section of warehouse, propane piping specification, propane piping and instrumentation diagram, design basis documents, HVAC equipment schedule, and HVAC flow schedule. Giffen also provided input to other disciplines including structural and electrical engineering teams.
Red Chris Mine is an open pit mine and processing facility located about 80 km south of Dease Lake, BC and is a joint venture between Newcrest and Imperial Metals.
