In 2020, JDS Energy and Mining Inc. partnered with Giffen to provide detailed engineering and design services for a new Truck Shop, Combined Shop, and associated facilities at Eagle Gold Mine.

The Truck Shop consisted of a wash bay, three service bays, a welding bay, a tool crib, parting staging area, an exterior lubrication storage and distribution skid, and a heated fold away shop.

The Combined Shop that housed the Light Vehicle (LV) Maintenance Shop and the Welding Shop were included as part of the Mobile Maintenance Facility. The maintenance facility pad also included propane storage and distribution, an office and lunch/locker room, and wash-car modular trailers.

Giffen’s multi-disciplinary engineering services included:
– Participation in HAZOP, constructability / maintainability design session
– Development of the overall site plot plan and Truck & Combined Shop general arrangement drawings
– Development of the equipment lists, datasheets, specifications, and schematics to support procurement activities
– Office based engineering support to the Construction Team

The Eagle Gold Mine Project is located in central Yukon in the Traditional Territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun, approximately 350 km north of Whitehorse, and 45 km (85 km by existing access roads) north-northeast of the Village of Mayo.
